We are pleased to announce that René van Houtum has joined The Shaw Group and is now working with D.A. Power to take on the role of General Manager of Shaw Transport, from D.A., effective March 4, 2024. René will report directly to me in this role. Over the next six (6) weeks, René will train and work closely with D.A. Following this transition, D.A. will be leading a number of critical, key Shaw Group opportunities and will continue to report to me. D.A.’s future permanent role will be covered in an upcoming separate announcement.
René comes to us with an extensive background in leadership, supply chain, warehousing and distribution and continuous improvement. Most recently, since 2015, he has held the role of President, for Mainfreight Inc. North America with overall responsibility for the Warehousing division of North America. In 2011 through to 2015, he held the role of General Manager for Mainfreight Australia Pty Ltd. From 1994 through to 2011, René held several progressive roles with Wim Bosman Group Europe, a supply chain company based in the Netherlands, offering Air, Ocean, Warehousing and distribution services in Europe. René has his Diploma, Logistics Management, from Fontys Venlo University of Applied Sciences, The Netherlands.
