Letter to Employees: 2024 Building Together Workplace Campaign

For over 75 years, The Shaw Group's dedicated staff and management have proudly supported United Way, raising more than $2 million to strengthen our communities. Together, we’re supporting stronger, more vibrant communities where everyone can thrive.

Last year, we collectively raised $115,679.48 for local United Ways, the East Hants Family Resource Centre, Our House in Shelburne, the Jacquet River Food Bank in Belledune, and the Fundy Food Bank in Kentville.

This year, we’re thrilled to see United Way Maritimes’ Affordable Housing Division take shape with the launch of a new tiny home community in Sackville, Nova Scotia. In the coming months, we look forward to hosting "Building Together" Days in partnership with Habitat for Humanity, as well as creating additional opportunities to foster a strong sense of community—particularly in areas of housing and social support.

As needs in our communities continue to grow—ranging from homelessness and food insecurity to domestic violence, social isolation, and mental health challenges—we’re encouraging everyone across all divisions to get involved and make a difference. All payroll deduction donations will be managed through the UW Forms, available from your Campaign Committee Member.

To amplify your generosity, The Shaw Group will match all employee donations made through payroll deduction of up to $30,000.

And to show our appreciation, everyone who donates—whether through payroll deduction, event donations, volunteering, or participation in fundraising events—will be entered into a prize draw on February 19, 2025. The more ways you contribute, the more entries you’ll have in the draw!
